Deck and Engineering Instructors Needed (Part-Time/Sessional)

Are you passionate about maritime education and looking for an exciting part-time opportunity? We are expanding our team and seeking enthusiastic Deck & Engineering Instructors to join us at our Hoylake, Wirral training centre.

About Us:
We are a leading provider of maritime education, specialising in preparing candidates for SQA, IAMI and MCA exams leading to MCA STCW Yacht Deck and Small Vessel Engineer Certificates of Competence. Our clientele operates primarily within the Superyacht and Workboat sectors, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver engaging lectures and oral preparation sessions to candidates preparing for SQA, IAMI written and MCA oral exams.
– Customise instruction to meet the diverse needs of our student base, catering to a wide range of abilities.
– Provide mentorship and support to candidates throughout their preparation journey.

Requirements:
– Deck Instructors: must hold at least an STCW OOW (Unlimited), OOW (Yachts) <3000gt or Master (Code Vessels) <200gt CoC, accompanied by substantial experience as a qualified Deck Officer.
– Engineer Instructors: must hold at least an STCW EOOW (Unlimited), SV EOOW <3000gt/<9000kW, SV 2nd Engineer <3000gt/<9000kW or Chief Engineer Y4 (Yachts) CoC, coupled with significant experience as a qualified Marine Engineer.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
– Previous experience as a trainer or lecturer.
– Familiarity with the small craft sector, particularly Superyachts and/or Workboats.
– Ability to effectively deliver training to a diverse student base.

RYA Shorebased Instructors:
We are also seeking passionate instructors to teach our RYA Shorebased courses. If you have experience and expertise in delivering RYA Shorebased courses and are eager to share your knowledge with aspiring sailors, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Join our team and play a pivotal role in equipping individuals with the theoretical knowledge they need to navigate the waters safely and confidently.
